MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) responded to a localized fire incident at Siegel High School on Tuesday morning. The call originated from the school's auditorium, prompting an immediate response from Engine 7 and Rescue 4.
Upon arrival, fire crews confirmed that the fire had already been extinguished. Because the small blaze produced a noticeable amount of smoke within the performing arts wing, MFRD personnel utilized high-powered fans to ventilate the auditorium and clear the air for the safety of the students.
School administrators and fire officials conducted a thorough sweep of the area to ensure there were no lingering hazards or structural concerns. Following the ventilation process, the air quality was deemed safe, and the school returned to its standard operating schedule. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
