Rutherford County Chamber Has a NEW Vice President of Workforce Development

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce has announced that Beth Duffield will assume the role of vice president of workforce development effective July 22.

In this role, Duffield will be responsible for continuing to expand and implement the Chamber’s regional workforce development strategy that supports the organization’s overall economic development efforts to help make Rutherford County more competitive for future projects.

“Beth, with her 20+ years of experience in workforce development, marketing, public relations and non-profit fundraising, will be an incredible asset to our team,” said Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce President Paul Latture. “We are thrilled for her to continue to develop the workforce efforts for our region.”

Duffield will leave her current post as development director for the Middle Tennessee State University College of Liberal Arts. She previously worked as director of alumni relations and events for Columbia State Community College, and prior to that, spent six years as workforce development coordinator for Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, Va. She is an experienced public speaker, certified corporate trainer and certified program planner. She earned a master’s degree in organizational management from Trevecca Nazarene University and a bachelor’s in liberal arts from Ambassador University in Pasadena, Calif.

The position was created through funding from Destination Rutherford, a Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce program designed to attract more high-paying jobs and help grow existing businesses in Rutherford County. 

Since its inception in 2002, Destination Rutherford has been the county leader in economic development, and continues to focus on increased tourism and new business attraction, retention and expansion, while assessing the county’s current and future workforce needs.
