CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — A former police officer in LaFollette has been indicted following an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into allegations of misconduct stemming from an incident in 2024.
According to authorities, TBI special agents launched the investigation in February 2025 after receiving information from an anonymous source regarding alleged misconduct involving Isaiah Lloyd, 33. Agents determined that while Lloyd was employed with the LaFollette Police Department, he was involved in an incident that occurred in January 2024 in Campbell County.
Investigators allege Lloyd concealed his identity and unlawfully entered private property in LaFollette. When confronted by the property owner, Lloyd allegedly threw a homemade explosive device before fleeing the scene.
On Tuesday, the Campbell County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Lloyd with one count of Official Misconduct and one count of Coercion of a Witness. He was taken into custody and booked into the Campbell County Jail, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond.
The TBI emphasized that the charges are accusations only, and Lloyd is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, established in 1980, serves as the state’s independent lead law enforcement agency, assisting local, state, and federal partners with advanced investigative and forensic services.
