MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - If you love the beauty of Tennessee in full spring bloom, this Sunday (4/26/2026) afternoon may be your perfect outing. Oaklands Mansion is hosting its sixth annual Ar “Beer” etum, a playful nod to the arboretum, wetlands and gardens that surround the historic site. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m., and admission is by reservation only.

Ar “Beer” etum invites guests to explore Oaklands Park, a peaceful stretch of native trees, natural wetlands, heritage gardens and the historic Maney Spring. This three‑hour experience blends the best of springtime flora and fauna with a generous sampling of local craft beer. Visitors will enjoy a guided walk through the arboretum, learning about the plants, wildlife and seasonal changes that make this downtown green space so special.

Along the pathways, guests will find beer‑sampling stations hosted by downtown Murfreesboro’s Liquid Smoke. Their team has selected brews with tasting notes that pair with the trees and plants featured along the route. The tour is led by Oaklands’ Master Gardener Connor Moss and Liquid Smoke’s Gavin Stark, who will share insights about the park’s plant life and the specialty beers chosen for the day.

“Oaklands Park is downtown Murfreesboro’s largest public green space and home to a natural wetland area, a rarity for such a densely populated community,” Moss said. “The park provides a fascinating study area for both its wildlife and plant‑life, and late April is a wonderful time to visit.”

Admission to Ar “Beer” etum is $35 per person, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the preservation and maintenance of the park and arboretum. Space is limited, and reservations must be made in advance. The tour takes place entirely outdoors and involves extensive walking, so guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and allow about an hour for the guided portion.

After the tour, visitors may explore the mansion, enjoy live music from Quarterlife in the backyard garden, and grab a bite from The Hot Dog Guy. Additional beer and cigars will be available on the back patio.

Whatever you do, don’t miss the sixth annual Ar “Beer” etum at Oaklands Mansion this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
