SMYRNA, Tenn. (WGNS) - A small private school from Smyrna is the talk of the track world after a massive showing at the Rutherford County Championships. Lancaster Christian Academy brought the smallest team in the field with only four athletes competing.

Austin Davis led the charge for the Knights. He won the 1600-meter championship in a come-from-behind finish and placed second in the 800-meter run. Officials named Davis the Male Distance MVP for his performance. He did not slow down on Monday night at La Vergne High School where he won the 400-meter dash in his first time ever running the event.

Mercy Whitt finished second in the 1600-meter and third in the 800-meter races. Aaron Long took third place in his first-ever 3200-meter race. Landon Weber rounded out the effort by setting personal records in both of his races.
