PODCAST: During the WGNS Action Line, host Scott Walker sits down with Dr. Kim Cleary Sadler (pictured above) to preview the 48th Elsie Quarterman Cedar Glade Wildflower Festival, taking place April 30 through May 3 at Cedars of Lebanon State Park and Long Hunter State Park. Sadler highlights how Middle Tennessee State University and its Center for Cedar Glade Studies are partnering to bring together faculty, alumni, and the community for four days of immersive outdoor experiences, including guided hikes, art activities, gardening sessions, and educational programs focused on the unique cedar glade ecosystems found across Middle Tennessee. Named in honor of renowned ecologist Elsie Quarterman, the festival offers a mix of free and low-cost, family-friendly events designed to showcase the region’s rare plant life and natural beauty while encouraging conservation and hands-on learning.
