Following the impact, two occupants attempted to escape on foot but were intercepted and detained after a brief foot chase.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a cache of illegal items. Investigators recovered a stolen Glock 19 equipped with a machine gun conversion device, commonly known as a "switch," along with a Glock 21 handgun. The narcotics seizure included nearly 28 grams of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, Adderall pills, and several bottles of "lean." Digital scales and various drug paraphernalia were also found at the scene.
The suspects are currently facing a litany of felony charges. These counts include felony evading, aggravated assault on first responders, and multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of controlled substances. Additionally, the pair faces charges for prohibited weapons, resisting arrest, and other related criminal offenses.
Department officials noted that the successful resolution of this case underscores the efficacy of proactive policing and modern technology. The use of automated license plate readers played a pivotal role in identifying the fugitives before they could further endanger the public.
