MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - The Murfreesboro Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating a serious wreck that halted Tuesday morning traffic.

Authorities say the two-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of Southeast Broad Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.

According to traffic investigators, the driver of a pickup truck failed to yield and struck a motorcycle. The impact left the motorcyclist with severe leg injuries. Emergency workers treated the rider at the scene before a medical helicopter airlifted the victim to an area hospital.

Police confirm no one else suffered injuries in the crash. The F.A.C.T. unit spent Tuesday morning documenting the scene and working to determine exactly what led to the collision.
