Authorities confirmed the operation was carried out by the La Vergne Police Department’s Narcotics Division alongside the Smyrna Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit. Detectives focused their efforts on a residence in Smyrna where officers ultimately recovered a sizable amount of suspected narcotics and drug-related evidence.

According to police, detectives seized roughly two ounces of crystal methamphetamine, two ounces of marijuana, and approximately eight ounces of promethazine during the search. The discovery resulted in charges against two individuals connected to the investigation.

One suspect now faces several felony-related accusations, including manufacture, delivery, and sale of methamphetamine, manufacture, delivery, and sale of Schedule VI narcotics involving marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for drug use, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony evading. A second individual was charged with maintaining a dwelling for drug use.

Officials said the investigation demonstrates how agencies within Rutherford County continue combining manpower, intelligence, and resources to confront narcotics activity that stretches beyond municipal boundaries. Law enforcement leaders emphasized that illegal drug distribution frequently impacts neighboring communities simultaneously, making regional partnerships increasingly important for public safety efforts in areas such as La Vergne, Smyrna, and Murfreesboro.

Investigators noted that dangerous substances like methamphetamine and illegally distributed prescription-related compounds continue creating challenges for neighborhoods and families throughout Middle Tennessee. Authorities also stressed that coordinated enforcement initiatives remain active across Rutherford County as departments work to identify trafficking operations and disrupt the movement of narcotics within local communities.

Police stated that proactive enforcement strategies and interagency cooperation are playing a key role in improving safety throughout the county. Officials further warned that individuals involved in the distribution of illegal drugs should expect continued attention from regional narcotics investigators working together across city lines.
