WARREN COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS News) - Illicit substance trafficking into the central region of the Volunteer State continues to surge from external territories. A recent contraband bust within Warren County culminated in a suspect's apprehension, marking the second such capture this week alone.

Local sheriff deputies assigned to the specialized Narcotics Division intercepted a 35-year-old woman accused of distributing dangerous drugs. Justice officials identified the detained individual as Tasha Lashun Jackson (larger photo / mugshot from Warren County officials below article), who reportedly transported large amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl across regional roadways.

Investigative data suggests these narcotics originated from the Chattanooga metropolitan area, roughly seventy miles southeast of McMinnville. Government personnel developed sufficient intelligence indicating the cargo presumably arrived via major highways and pathways. The targeted operation unfolded this past Thursday evening, May 21, 2026, when plainclothes detectives confronted the traveler at a specific destination where she allegedly carried the narcotics. Upon physical inspection, police discovered a massive cache of synthetic opioids, stimulants, and U.S. currency.

According to Drug Enforcement Administration parameters, a mere two milligrams of the hazardous fentanyl represents a fatal dosage. Medical experts warn that the seized haul in this case however, contained approximately 14,500 lethal portions, threatening countless citizens.

Consequently, judicial authorities leveled formal counts, charging Jackson with "Felony Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Sell or Deliver" and “Felony Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell or Deliver," according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Currently, the offender remains incarcerated within the local correctional facility pending an upcoming appearance before the General Sessions Court. Calendar logs indicate that at least 168 hours have elapsed since her arrest.

Interestingly, a similar drug bust unfolded last year involving methamphetamine being transported into Warren County from the opposite direction. In that case, authorities alleged the suspect was moving methamphetamine from Smyrna to the McMinnville area, a route spanning approximately 55 miles. Investigators said the Rutherford County suspect transported an estimated two to three pounds of methamphetamine per trip, making multiple deliveries each week to Warren County and several surrounding areas.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office said it will continue to aggressively target the distribution of dangerous narcotics while protecting the citizens of Warren County from those who traffic these deadly substances into the community.
