WARREN COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS News) - Local law enforcement initiated a massive sweep targeting illicit drug networks within Middle Tennessee on Tuesday. The Warren County Sheriff's Office announced the execution of "Operation Summer Sweep," a wide-ranging crackdown that disrupted regional narcotics operations following an exhaustive investigation.

On Friday, June 5, 2026, undercover investigators with the Narcotics Division detailed their findings before the county grand jury. Following this testimony, the local judicial system advanced the case by returning indictments against 42 individuals accused of selling and distributing methamphetamine, cocaine, and various other banned substances.

Deputies commenced serving those arrest warrants early Tuesday morning. At the time of publication, 28 of the named suspects had been taken into custody and booked into the regional detention facility, while tracking efforts continue for the remaining defendants.

During the sweep, personnel executed a search warrant at a dwelling on White Street. Inside that residence, officers uncovered a significant cache of methamphetamine, three firearms, and undisclosed cash, culminating in supplementary criminal charges. According to recent data from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, methamphetamine remains the most frequently submitted illicit substance to state crime labs, highlighting the critical nature of these local seizures.

Warren County Sheriff Jackie D. Matheny, Jr. commended the dedication of his specialized narcotics unit during the operation.

“Since the creation of our Narcotics Division, our investigators have conducted numerous successful operations targeting the distribution of fentanyl, methamphetamine and other dangerous narcotics throughout our community. Specifically, fentanyl and methamphetamine continue to devastate families and claim lives across our nation. It is imperative that we do everything within our power to remove these drugs from our streets and hold those who distribute it accountable," Matheny stated.

The top law enforcement official emphasized his team's relentless resolve to protect area families from the broader impacts of the drug trade.

“I am extremely proud of the dedication, professionalism, and persistence displayed by our Narcotics Division and all personnel involved in this operation. They remain committed to protecting the citizens of Warren County and combating the criminal activity that threatens the safety and quality of life of our community. Our message to drug dealers is simple: if you choose to traffic illegal drugs in Warren County, we will pursue you relentlessly. Today, tomorrow, and every day thereafter, we will continue working to identify, investigate, and arrest those who profit from addiction and place our citizens at risk. Our goal is not to achieve a certain number of arrests—it is to make Warren County a safer place for every family who calls it home," Matheny concluded.

The agency published the identities of the 28 captured individuals currently being processed by the court system. Those apprehended include:
