MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Drivers in Murfreesboro should prepare for a temporary road closure next week as CSX crews complete railroad repair work on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. Middle Tennessee Boulevard will be closed to through traffic at the CSX railroad crossing near Church Street on Wednesday, June 17. The closure is expected to last 24 hours, with the roadway scheduled to reopen Thursday, June 18.
The closure is necessary so CSX can repair an emergency widening gauge issue at the crossing.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and watch for posted detour signs in the area. Suggested alternate routes are expected to be provided before the closure begins.
City officials are advising drivers who normally use Middle Tennessee Boulevard near the railroad crossing to consider another route while the work is underway.
