PIGEON FORGE, TN (WGNS) - Rockvale High School School Resource Officer Kim Moses has been elected second vice president of the Tennessee School Resource Officers Association. Approximately 800 SROs and school administrators from across the Volunteer State attended the even at Music Road Resort in Pigeon Forge.
For Moses, the new leadership role is both an honor and a continuation of the work she’s already known for inside Rockvale’s halls. Colleagues describe her as steady, approachable, and deeply committed to the students she serves. Now she’ll help shape SRO training and standards statewide.
Rutherford County had a strong presence at the conference, sending 22 SROs to participate in workshops, training sessions, and statewide discussions on school safety. Another seven SROs completed the SRO Basic Training Course, adding to the county’s already robust school safety program.
It’s a point of pride locally that the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office launched Tennessee’s first countywide SRO program 33 years ago, embedding officers in every Rutherford County School long before it became a statewide norm. Today, SROs remain a daily presence in every school, building relationships, mentoring students, and responding to safety needs.
A large group photo from the conference shows just how many local faces were part of the event. Attending were James Bailey, Emily Leonard, Ali Albouhamed, Richard Presley, Aquarius Phillips, Christopher Golden, Jamie Hurst, Jason Thomas, William Victor, Travis Brewer, Dallas Huling, Kenny Smith, Kim Moses, Jonathan Hickman, Beau Koehler, Broede Stucky, Summer Higgins, Samantha Delduca, Cortez Williams, Roscoe Sanders, Anton Jett, Kayte Cherry, Garry Carter, Benji Soto, Cameron Stamps, Dontrell Weakley and Shelby Pearson.
Moses’ election adds another chapter to Rutherford County’s long-running leadership in school safety — and gives local students one more reason to be proud of the SROs who walk their hallways every day.
