MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Sunshine Nutrition Center has been a familiar name in Rutherford County for 37 years, ever since Dr. Kenneth Hillsman, Sr. and his wife Ruby opened the doors to their first health‑focused store. Their daughter, Kim Hillsman Dunaway, quite literally grew up in the aisles of the family business and has been running operations since her parents retired.

This spring, the Hillsman family made the difficult decision not to renew the lease on their Smyrna location, choosing instead to consolidate all operations at their flagship store in Murfreesboro.

Kim emphasized that longtime Smyrna customers will still see familiar faces when they visit the Murfreesboro store — the staff who served them for over 3-decades in Smyrna have transitioned to the South Church Street location in Murfreesboro. She added that customers will also benefit from a significantly larger inventory, expanded product lines, and the convenience of a single, fully staffed location.
