MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - The race for Murfreesboro's top leadership positions is heating up as mayoral and city council candidates took the stage at the Murfreesboro Airport Business Center for a live public forum. Sponsored by the Murfreesboro Fire Fighters Association Local 3035, the event aimed to give Rutherford County voters a clear look at who will shape the city's future.

With municipal elections scheduled for August 6th, candidates spent the evening tackling pressing local issues. The rapid growth of Murfreesboro remained a central talking point, with discussions highlighting the strain on city roads, neighborhood zoning, and local schools.

Public safety was also a major priority during the debate. Candidates running for both Mayor and City Council seats shared their individual visions for supporting city fire fighters and police officers as emergency response needs grow. Organizers emphasized that events like this are crucial for residents who want to make an informed choice at the polls when early voting begins in July.

Thanks to the Murfreesboro Fire Fighters Association Local 3035 for allowing WGNS and Big G TV to be able to share with you this valuable forum to help voters make an informed decision.
