Blackman jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back as they defeated county foe Siegel 42-8.
The Stars fumbled on the third play of the game to set up an Antonio Malone score for the Blaze. The senior's second touchdown with 4:48 left in the first half gave them a 21-0 halftime lead:
Malone had 21-carries for 197-yards and two touchdowns on the night. Blackman scored two touchdowns early in the third quarter. The second on this pass from Drew Beam to senior wide receiver Emilio Martin:
Blaze senior Dejeun Gibson added touchdown runs of 10 and 53-yards. He carried the ball five times for 82-yards on the night.
Siegel was not shut out, thanks to this touchdown run by senior Cam McGuire:
McGuire also had a 50-yard kickoff return and a punt return of nearly 40-yards.
Blackman had 325 yards rushing - 102 passing for 427-yards total offense.
Siegel rushed for 102-yards - passed for 48 - for 150-yards total offense.
The Blaze will host Cookeville next Friday with second place in the region and a home playoff game on the line. The Stars will travel to Rockvale. Both teams will be in search for their first win of the year. WGNS will be at Rockvale for the broadcast on State Farm Prep Sports.
