In a time when people pay big bucks to stay fit and healthy, the Cripple Creek Cloggers practice sessions do the trick and it's free. Practices are scheduled at the Smyrna Senior Citizens Center, 100 Raikes Street, at 4:15PM on Sunday afternoons on August 11th and 18th, as well as September 8th and 15th.

Cripple Creek's Founder Steve Cates notes, "Uncle Shuffelo and His Haint Hollow Hootenanny will be at our performing site at 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning September 21, 2019 for sound check. While we do not have to be there at that time, it might be a good idea to be there by 10:00AM, just to check things out and make sure we are ready to start performing when they are ready for us."

Cates also mentioned that the local dance troupe has been invited to Portugal next year to participate in Festival International de Folclore Cultura e Artes in Almeirim. That event will be April 25 through May 1, 2020, and he noted that several members have voiced interest in being a part of that program.

Many people have attended the International FolkFest, and enjoyed watching and talking with visitors from around the world. That's exactly what the Cripple Creek Cloggers do as they travel to distant places and share Middle Tennessee's culture and goodwill.

Cates mentioned a second invitation that was just received.

The World Peace Music and Culture Festival in Papua, New Guinea is set for , October 12-18, 2020.

Cates asks, "Is anyone interested in pursuing?

And yet another invitation, this one to Hawaii.

Organizers of the Annual Memorial Day Parade and the special celebration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II could bring the Cripple Creek Cloggers to Honolulu.

WGNS salutes the Cripple Creek Cloggers and thanks them for all of the goodwill they bring to the Heart of Tennessee.
