(MURFREESBORO) NewsRadio WGNS does not usually report on false calls, but a Sunday (7/21/2019) incident in the Southridge subdivision involved so many blue lights, ambulances and heavy response trucks--that it was important to let the public know what happened.
Emergency workers responded to a hostage situation that turned out to be a false call.
Rutherford County Sheriffs Office' Major Steve Spence said, "We took this as a real call for the safety of the people in the neighborhood and the emergency responders. We are especially appreciative for the cooperation of the neighbors."
Responding agencies included the Sheriff's Office, Rutherford County Fire Rescue, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, the Special Operations Response Team and the Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency.
Detectives from the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office are investigating the call.
