"Friends of Linebaugh" Luncheon At Woman's Club On Saturday

(MURFREESBORO) The Friends of Linebaugh Library group enjoyed ther annual membership luncheon on Saturday (1/26/2019) at the Murfreesboro Woman's Club. Author Phyllis Gobbell was the guest speaker.

Phyllis Gobell talked about the importance of libraries, writing as well as her love for music. She is an associate professor of English at Nashville State Community College. In addition, she has published books, short stories, creative nonfiction. Gobbell has received awards in both fiction and nonfiction, including Tennessee's Individual Artist Literary Award.

After her talk, Phyllis shared her love for music by playing the piano for those at the luncheon.

Gobbell is co-author of two true-crime books based on high-profile Nashville murders: A Season of Darkness, with Doug Jones, and An Unfinished Canvas with Mike Glasgow. In addition, she has a mystery series with a character named Jordan Mayfair. The first in the series was Pursuit in Provence, Secrets and Shamrocks and Treachery in Tuscany.

She grew-up in Waynesboro and discovered adventures in the library during the sixth grade. Her love for books has grown from that point.
