(MURFREESBORO) On Tuesday (3/12/2019) Murfreesborfo Fire and Rescue Department crews responded to Oakland High School for a report of someone falling off of the roof.

According to Battalion Chief Jamie Bigelow, an HVAC worker was on a ladder that was fixed from one roof to another when the ladder slipped and caused a leg injury. The patient was unable to get off of the roof without assistance.

Therefore, crews carefully placed the patient in a stokes basket, affixed it to the bucket of Ladder 4, and gently lowered the basket to the ground.

The injured heating and air conditioning worker was treated on-the-scene by paramedics from Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, and then rushed to the ER at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
