The American Heart Association, along with TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, was honored to present the Heartsaver Hero Awards to Nurse Rachel Bullard and Officer Shane Vaughn for saving the life of a teacher at LaVergne High School. The local educator recently went into cardiac arrest and thanks to the fast work of Officer Vaughn and Nurse Bullard, she is doing well today.
Together, Vaughn and Bullard stepped in and performed CPR and administered an AED until EMT's could arrive.
The American Heart Association reported to WGNS, "Special thanks to Nurse Bullard and Officer Vaughn for knowing how to save a life. Take the time to learn Hands-Only CPR. Go to CPR.Heart.Org to learn!"
