(MURFREESBORO) Congratulations to Murfreesboro Police Chief Michael Bowen on receiving the Tennessee National Guard's PATRIOTIC EMPLOYER AWARD.

Murfreesboro Police Officer and Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Benjamin Sagrera nominated Chief Bowen, "because of the support the department and Chief Bowen give to all our guard and reserve members throughout the year."

Sagrera was deployed as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. Operation Inherent Resolve is the U.S. military's operational name for the military intervention against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. These days the two countries are also known as ISIL, and this Operation included both the campaign in Iraq and Syria.
