MTSU's Hangzhou Normal's Partnership and COVID-19

(MURFREESBORO) MTSU President Sidney McPhee addressed the Murfreesboro Rotary Club via Zoom on Tuesday and he said that the university's connection with China brought them in early. Their first planning session was on January 28th. It dealt with a musical performance on campus . . .

MTSU partners with Hangzhou Normal University with joint research dealing with ancient Chinese herbal medications.

When asked if the COVID-19 pandemic will hurt the relationship, Dr. McPhee commented . . .

The university's president said that changes will result from the pandemic.

Some of those changes that have already happened are the "12-hundred faculty members converting 3,000 classroom courses" to instead be "on line". That was done during the extended spring break. Another change will be the "virtual graduation ceremony" on May 9th. And still others are being "born out of necessity at this time".
