Murder Convict Asks Judge Bragg for a New Trial

We have more news on the conviction of a 47-year-old Wilson County man charged with first-degree murder in Rutherford County.

In December of 2018, David Oeser (Pronounced e-sir) was found guilty of murdering James Burney Whitehead in Murfreesboro. According to court filings in February of this year (2019), Oeser was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison. However, he recently appeared before Judge David Bragg asking for a new trial with the hopes of getting out of prison early. Oeser was found guilty of First Degree Premeditated Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery , First Degree Felony Murder, Aggravated Burglary and Tampering with Evidence.
