Murfreesboro Woman Killed In Thursday Night Crash

Shortly before 9:00 o'clock Thursday (1/10/2019) night, Smyrna police answered a call for a two vehicle fatal crash near the entrance to Jefferson Springs Recreation Area.

Paramedics from Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services said that 46-year old Tammie McClark of Murfreesboro was deceased at the scene.

Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold explained that the preliminary investigation indicated that a gold Saturn was traveling west on TN-266 South when it crossed the double yellow line into the eastbound lane. The Saturn collided head-on with a black 2018 Infiniti QX60 that was traveling east on TN-266 North.


McClark was driving the Saturn. The driver of the Infiniti was 29-year old Laura Ford was transported to Stonecrest Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The Smyrna Police Department is continuing to investigate this fatal accident.
