The next scheduled Health and Education Committee meeting will be held this month on March 24th in the County Courthouse at 5:30 PM.

If all goes as planned, a new elementary school will be built in the Christiana / Buchanan area and adding onto Roy Waldron and LaVergne Middle Schools by 2022.

Other Highlights of School Projects in Rutherford County:

• The schools have a 5 year plan that includes an offer already made on a parcel of land currently owned by the City of Murfreesboro.
• There is said to be a TWO school need currently in the Blackman area, the fastest growing area of Rutherford County.
• The cost to build the next high school will likely be in the ballpark of $80 million.
