Oakland High School in Murfreesboro has announced that 12 students are now certified Clinical Medical Assistants. The local students successfully passed their recent career certification exam.

The average pay for a Certified Medical Assistant is $14.19 hourly, according to PayScale.com. Most medical assistants follows the order of a supervising doctor or nurse. Some of their duties may include taking the vital signs of a patient, drawing blood and administering medication. Clerical duties may also be required depending on the medical atmosphere in which the assistant works.
