Thousands of Tennessee residents with HIV may have had their medical information compromised. Evidently, the medical records were on a public server for about 9 months before being discovered.
Those living with HIV who were keeping their personal information quiet, are obviously upset.
The Nashville Metro Health Department reports that they do not believe confidential information was accessed by anyone outside of their department, but that cannot be confirmed.
On the downside, some worry that this will lead to a decrease in HIV testing for Middle Tennessee residents.
