Property Assessor Rob Mitchell noted that the percentage of return this year was 13.07 per cent of their total budget. That calculates into $317,356 of your tax dollars being returned to the county general fund.

Mitchell said, "Over the last 7 years $2,525,260 dollars has been returned."

The assessors office is working more efficiently than ever and was awarded the Excellence in Administration Award by the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers for 2018 in recognition of their achievements.

Mtchell concluded, "While the appraised values of real-estate in Rutherford County has surged to well over 33 billion dollars, we have search for ways to do more with less by investing in technology and training of employees."
