"Some days are warmer, some days are cold", that's Tennessee weather for you. Murfreesboro Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran says construction projects ebb and flow with the mercury. Here are potential problem spots today through February 2, 2019.

City Construction Projects

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E. Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Median construction and traffic signal work continues between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is still closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Faulkinberry Dr is still closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. Appropriate traffic controls are in place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle St is re-opened to traffic. Incidental construction work continues along W Lytle St. Appropriate traffic controls are in place.

Turn Lane Improvements (Medical Center Pkwy at Warren St/New Fire Station)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: Contractor will be adding a right turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at the new fire station/Warren St. Eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place. Westbound traffic will not be affected.

New Traffic Signal Installation Work (Medical Center Pkwy at Livy Dearing Pl)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: As part of private development, a new traffic signal will be installed on Medical Center Pkwy at Livy Dearing Pl just west of Thompson Ln. There will be lane closures and minor traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Streets/Urban Environmental Department Tree Work

  1. Burnt Knob Rd between Veterans Pkwy and Blackman Rd

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, Weather Permitting, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm: Street/Urban Environmental crews will be removing trees along Burnt Knob Rd between Veterans Pkwy and Blackman Rd. Traffic on Burnt Knob Rd will be reduced to one-lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

  1. Bradyville Pike at Middle Tennessee Blvd

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, Weather Permitting, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm: Street/Urban Environmental crews will be trimming dead tree limbs along Bradyville Pike near Middle Tennessee Blvd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions westbound on Bradyville Pike. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

  1. S Church St at Seminole Dr

Expected Lane Closures: Thursday, Weather Permitting, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm: Street/Urban Environmental crews will be removing trees along S Church St at Seminole Dr. The northbound right-hand lane will be closed on S Church St near Seminole Dr. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Resurfacing Projects

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, SR 99 (New Salem Hwy) resurfacing from Cason Lane to i-24

  • Daily, 9AM-4PM, There will be alternating lane closures between the intersection of Barfield Drive and SR99 for the placement of bridge beams over West Fork Stones River. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, The resurfacing on SR10 from SR 268 to the Wilson County Line

  • Daily, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating lane closures on SR 10 for paving and pavement marking operations.
