Judge Barry Tidwell held a Mental Health Court Graduation outdoors at a homeless camp in Murfreesboro. A man by the name of Thomas graduated after a lengthy, yet successful completion of the courses offered by the Rutherford County Judicial System.

Mental health courts help offenders who would normally be headed to jail or prison and instead link them to long-term community-based treatment. Groups like The Journey Home, Barnabas Vision and Greenhouse Ministries are just a few of the non-profits in Rutherford County that help with the programs that have proven to be successful for people like Thomas.
