219 MIXED CUISINE

Murfreesboro's changing face in restaurants. Over the past year, we've seen well known eateries go while new tastes are offered. It seems that this all began in the 90's when a study indicated that Murfreesboro had one of the highest per capita populations for eating out. Almost as if a magic wand was waved, the flood gate to new cuisinne poured-in.

In our near future, a change is coming to what we now know at The Gondolier. A young Nashville couple is expanding their Music City eating successes to the 'Boro. 219 MIXED CUISINE certainly lives up to their name. You can see their concept growing into place with visual changes as you enjoy the final days of the Gondolier's Itallian favorites.

The most noticable change at 219 Southeast Broad Street is that the cool display cases that were filled with tempting cakes have been replaced with a semi-circular sushi bar. One described the menu that was successful in Nashville as being sushi, sushi, sushi--along with a delicious mix of American favorites.

We'll have to wait until the soft early September opening to know for sure.

Dog Haus Biergarten Locked and Still Closed

A puzzler in 'Boro eateries is the Dog Haus Biergarten at at 521 Northwest Broad Street. The structure in which this restaurant is located was the result of a massive makeover last year of an older building that had been home to several past eateries. With the completion of T-DOT's Bridge Over Broad project, this area has seen increased traffic, plus it looks much better. In fact, it could be considered being on the fringe of the massive downtown renovations of what is referred to as "Murfreesboro's historic business district".

So what's the mystery with the Dog Haus? Look at the photo above. This was in the noon hour on Friday. Heavy traffic in front, but the doors were locked and the lights were off. Earlier--signs that foretold of "opening in a few days" were even taken off the doors. The facility remains closed while employees now report they have not been paid since July 24, 2018.
