TSSAA State Volleyball Championships Competition Set to Spike in Murfreesboro this Week

(MURFREESBORO, TN) -- The level of competition in Murfreesboro this week is about to spike! The TSSAA Division I and Division II State Girls' Volleyball Championships will be returning October 22-24 at Blackman High School, Siegel High School and Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

This event brings in 480 athletes and approximately 10,000 spectators to Rutherford County. A total of 32 Division I and II teams in five different classes will compete for the title of state champions. These volleyball tournaments have been hosted in Murfreesboro since 1996.

"We are excited to welcome back volleyball teams and fans from all over the state to Rutherford County again this year," said Senior Vice President of the Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau Barbara Wolke. "The tournament always keeps our hotels and restaurants busy, and also it is a great boost to our local economy."

Admission is $10 per day for all tournaments on day of purchase. School-age children and older are required to have a ticket. Parking is $5 per day at the high schools which includes a pass that will allow you to leave and reenter. Parking will be free at MTSU all days.
