Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) will offer an Introduction to Whole Health class Friday, Mar. 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the media center of its Alvin C. York campus at 3400 Lebanon Pike.
This class is designed for Veterans who have or will soon separate from the military, and offers information on the many services TVHS can provide them as well as enrollment into the VA healthcare system. Those who are currently enrolled are also welcome, and family members are encouraged to attend as well.
On January 9, 2018, President Trump signed Executive Order 13822: Supporting Our Veterans During Their Transition from Uniformed Service to Civilian Life. This course is aimed at supporting the executive order by providing open access to whole health courses and health care information to transitioning Service members.
The Whole Health approach is transforming TVHS from the traditional model, which focuses on treating specific issues, to a personalized, proactive, patient-driven model promoting whole health for Veterans and their families.
TVHS intends to offer the class twice monthly, alternating between its Nashville and Murfreesboro campuses.
TVHS is an integrated tertiary health care system comprised of two hospitals, the Alvin C.
