A 19-year old woman overdosed on heroin in Murfreesboro. The overdose was reported on Westgate Boulevard.

Evidently, the boyfriend of the woman called paramedics when he discovered that she was unresponsive in the bedroom. The man told officers they had smoked marijuana earlier in the night, but failed to mention the heroin.

After the female was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital she was revived. When she came to, she told police that she overdosed because of heroin and not the marijuana that was smoked during the evening hours of Tuesday (1/31/17).

While the woman was not charged with any wrongdoing for the reported overdose of heroin, the Department of Children Services was notified because an infant was in the home with the overdose occurred.
