Do you recall the fake Gibson guitars that made the news several years ago in Middle Tennessee? Well, the replica guitars are making the news again in Murfreesboro.

In 2014, the Murfreesboro Police Department confiscated seven fake Gibson guitars that were made in China and later sold to a pawn shop in Murfreesboro. It looks as if the same thing has occurred again. On Tuesday (11/8/16), WGNS learned that history is repeating itself.

This time around, a 47 year old Smyrna resident took two Gibson Les Paul guitars to Tom's Pawn Shop on Broad Street to sell. The guitars were branded as being part of the Zach Wylde guitar collection by Gibson.

The value of the guitars were said to be about $750 each. However, when a pawn shop worker called a representative from Gibson, he learned that the guitars were fake.

Tom's Pawn Shop called the police after learning that the guitars were counterfeit's. The case is now being investigated.
