From the Rutherford County Property Assessors Office:

As we drive the streets of our community we see growth and change. La Vergne is exploding with new opportunity. Smyrna is developing hundreds of acres of new homes and businesses. Murfreesboro is not only growing but is experiencing a Renaissance in the Historic downtown core. Eagleville is continuing to provide a lifestyle eagerly sought by those fleeing the crowded urban areas. We are Rutherford County and this is where opportunity and lifestyle come to live.

Your Property Assessor's Office monitors this growth. Our staff of 30 dedicated and well trained public servants locates, identifies, classifies, lists and values every parcel, home, farm and business in our community. This has been a very challenging and rewarding task. Our commitment is to continue to provide a value to the citizens of Rutherford County.

Here are some numbers to remember:

  • 120,000 real and tangible personal business property accounts and parcels
  • Over $7 Billion Dollars in Assessed Property Value (a $700 million increase over last year)
  • Returned $262,318 back to the General Fund through administrative savings
  • Returned $1,918,696 back to the General Fund over the last 5 Years through administrative efficiencies

The additional property our office picked up in the last year generated an additional $18,760,000 in property tax revenue and still found ways to do more with less. We value Rutherford while bringing value to our customers, the citizens of Rutherford County. We are honored to continue to do so.
