DECA members at Blackman High School have partnered up with Stones River Mall to host the 2nd Annual Santa Around the World Kid's Club event on December 16, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Santa Around the World, an intercultural festival, includes events, interactive games, and food for those who attend. The event will be held at Stones River Mall near the inside playground. There will be a total of five booths, and each booth will be filled with cultural activities for a different country. The five countries include: Cuba, India, Italy, Poland, and South Korea. Each child that participates will receive a small passport that will be stamped at each booth, just like a real passport. The community is invited to come and learn about other cultures and have fun!

This event requires students to plan, organize, and implement a real world event. Our team, consisting of Svetlana Baranova, Kendall Clark, and Hanna Nordin, have decided to plan a 2nd annual public relations event for Stones River Mall. Many children are not aware of the differences in culture from country to another. Our goal is to spread cultural awareness by having an intercultural festival that will be interactive and appealing to children of all ages. Blackman High School DECA will also be volunteering and working the event.

This event is free for parents and children of all ages! Adults and children will be able to play Christmas Trivia and win prizes! There will also be a prize for each child that travels the world with Santa to each of the five countries. The child will need to show his/her passport, that is stamped from all five of the booths, to the attendant at the DECA booth.
