Rutherford County's Habitat for Humanity is preparing for the 10th Annual Cookin' To Build that will be around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse on the Murfreesboro square. The fun event will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 11:00 that morning until 1:30 in the afternoon. In addition to the delicious soups, chili and stews, there will be "live" music around the courthouse.

The cool November Saturday will be filled with delicious homemade soups, stews and chili that are created by civic and social groups, churches and other non-profits. They compete fro the BEST ENTRY. And all proceeds go to Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity. Contact Megan Hutchings at Habit for more information: 615-890-5877 or e-mail megan@rchfh.org.

When you arrive at Cookin' To Build, you will select a colorful, hand-painted bowl and walk around the courthouse, enjoying the delicious soups, stews and chili. Of course, you can make the day even more fun...create your own bowl in the two-month period prior to the event.

PAINT YOUR PERSONAL BOWL

Habitat's Executive Director Terri Shultz said, "To enjoy the event even more, start the tradition of painting your own personal bowl."

Habitat's Megan Hutchings reminds us, "All of September, and through October 31st, the public is encouraged to create their own bowl at The Pottery Place."

The Pottery Place is in the Avenue of Murfreesboro (2615 Medical Center Pkwy, Suite 470). You can paint your personal bow September 1, 2017 through October 31, 2017. Hours at The Pottery Place are Monday through Saturday from 10AM-9PM, and Sunday Noon-6PM.

Hutchings explained, "All painters are asked to pre-purchase your bowl for $5 at the time you paint it. Plus, the $20 fee to enjoy Cookin' To Build. Your bowl will be in a designated area the day of the event."
