Despite the closing of the YMCA facility on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, the "Y" is still active in our community.

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee continues to offer its community-based, small group ministry programs in Murfreesboro, and spots are still available for two new groups:

Boundaries (for women only)

Wednesdays @ Fellowship Bible Church, 6:30 - 8 PM, Oct. 14 - Dec. 30,

New participants accepted through Oct. 20

This 10-week small group class offered by the Y's Mind-Spirit Ministries helps women understand physical, mental, emotional and spiritual boundaries that can help them take control of their life by learning when to say "yes" and when to say "no." Class participants find answers to questions such as "Can I set limits and still be a loving person?", "How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy or money?" and "Why do I feel guilty when I consider setting boundaries?"

Journey to Freedom (co-ed)

Thursdays @ Fellowship Bible Church, 6:30-8 PM, Oct. 22 - Dec. 17

New participants accepted through Oct. 28

Journey to Freedom is an 8-week small group course that teaches participants how to successfully make changes to their lives. Working in a supportive and caring environment with other group members seeking to make similar life changes, participants learn what needs to happen in order to experience lasting change (and why previous attempts to change may have failed), how to silence one's inner critic to live with vision and passion as opposed to fear and need. The group offers practical tools for facing any challenge or problem and helps individuals chart a path toward achieving their best possible life.
