MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS)- Two people were injured in a shooting Monday evening at a Murfreesboro apartment complex, and detectives are working to identify a suspect.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the shooting happened shortly after 6:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at Brookwood Terrace Apartments in the 2700 block of South Rutherford Boulevard.

Police said two victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. The nature and severity of their injuries had not been released as of Monday evening.

Detectives with MPD’s Criminal Investigations Division are working to retrieve surveillance video from the area in an effort to identify a suspect.

Police announced around 8:15 p.m. that the main entrance to the apartment complex was closed until further notice as the investigation continued. Apartment management opened the rear entrance for tenants needing access to the property.

No suspect description or additional information about what led to the shooting had been released.
