“He was found deceased in his car,” Sheriff Arnold said.

Maj. Bill Sharp of the Criminal Investigations Division said Warpoole’s body was transferred to the state Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy and his silver Dodge Magnum will be processed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Detectives are trying to determine what Warpoole was doing just before he was killed.

“We are not ruling out anything at this time,” Maj. Sharp said.

People who have information about the shooting are asked to call lead Detective Jamin Humphress at 615-904-3054 and leave a message.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Special Investigations Bureau helped process the scene along with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s CID.
