Recently an intoxicated Cannon County man who was reportedly scaring customers at the Highway 53 Dollar General market was arrested on public intoxication and other charges.
According to sheriff's reports, Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Doc Smith was dispatched to the Dollar General Market and upon arrival began talking to Marlin Prater who appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant or drugs. Prater was uneasy on his feet and his eyes were dilated. Prater admitted he had prescriptions on him. The problem... the prescription evidently didn't belong to Prater. Prater claimed a friend gave it to him. The prescription pills found on Prater were 8 Xanax pills.
Prater was arrested for possession of schedule 3 drug and public intoxication.
