A Smyrna, Tennessee woman has been indicted in Chattanooga by a grand jury. 41-year old Monica Hammers is accused of trying to suffocate her 4-year old son. The incident allegedly occurred on May the 6th in Chattanooga’s Erlanger Hospital after the child was brought there for court ordered medical testing. The mother also faces aggravated child abuse charges.
