It was another successful race for the 4-mile Boro Dash in Murfreesboro with close to 3,000 runners. The race started at 8:00, Thanksgiving morning. Like last year, the race raised thousands of dollars for several non-profits. The total amount taken in has yet to be announced, but last year the race brought in close to $60,000.

The first place winner of the men’s division was Keith Davis, an MTSU cross country runner. His time was 20-minutes and 36-seconds.As far as the women’s race goes, participants were surprised to see that a 12-year old girl placed first in the women’s race on Thursday. Taylor Cuneo, daughter of Stephen and Lori Cuneo, ran the race in 26-minutes and 7-seconds. Cuneo will turn 13 in December. 

The non-profit’s that benefited this year included the Neema House, Greenhouse Ministries and Interfaith Dental Clinic. The Neema House will be a children’s home in the Geita Region of Tanzania. Greenhouse Ministries is a local non-profit that provides help to the less fortunate in Rutherford County. Everything from food to educational programs are offered through Greenhouse. The mission of the Interfaith Dental Clinic is to restore, protect, and improve the oral health of uninsured, low-income, working people, their children and the elderly in Middle Tennessee through access to affordable quality dental care, oral disease prevention services, and oral health education.
