The very first "Virtual School" in Rutherford County is nearly one semester over and a new semester is ahead. Dr. Jessica Supakhan is the principal of the Virtual School and said there is some confusion surrounding the purpose of the school, because it is not related to COVID-19 and Distance-Learning. Instead, it is a stand alone school that is in the community to offer a new way to educate children.
WGNS also talks to Rutherford County Schools Director James Evans about COVID-19 numbers and how the illness has had a major impact on traditional schools.
