WGNS received multiple calls about a car accident that evidently looked more serious than it actually was. However, we have confirmed that no fatalities were reported in the 10-car crash that unfolded on I-24 in Rutherford County this past Saturday night. The crash snarled traffic for several hours.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office reported the Tennessee Department of Transportation Help Truck arrived on the scene and workers with the state blocked I-24 near Smyrna’s Sam Ridley Parkway interchange.
Rutherford County Deputy Laura Enright gave a big thank you to the Help Truck for lending a hand to the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Sheriff's Office at the scene.
