UPDATED (MURFREESBORO, Tenn.) WGNS has more news on the pedestrian who was struck by a car around 6:30 Tuesday morning in Murfreesboro (Click above photo for more pictures).

MPD Public Information Officer Larry flowers told WGNS that the man who was hit by the vehicle was rushed to the hospital minutes after the accident occurred…

Flowers confirmed the victim suffered from non-life threating injuries and was found lying in the road by a passerby.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian on Molloy Lane near the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, told officers that she was blinded by the morning sun and didn’t see who or what she hit...



Authorities report that the driver was issued two citations…



When WGNS spoke to police on Wednesday, they could not elaborate on why the driver was cited for driving without a license.

Reports indicate the motorist that struck the pedestrian was driving a Nissan Versa. The small sedan sustained a broken passenger-side mirror and cracked headlight in the accident.

As for pedestrians, police say that if you are walking towards the sun and it makes it difficult to see, you should walk on the opposite side of the roadway.
