Pro-Choice Rally held on Rutherford County Square Tuesday, Election Day

As folks parked on the Rutherford County Square to vote on Tuesday, many were met with protestors who were chanting about their body and their right to abortion…

The pro-choice protest appeared to involve about 20 to 30-people in Murfreesboro. Some of the signs read, “My Body – My Choice” and “Abortion is Healthcare.”

Pro-Choice and the Right to Life - Continued...

In Nashville, a much larger rally was held in front of the Nashville Federal Building. There, several hundred people were in attendance. Those who spoke before the crowd talked about their belief as to why abortion should always be a choice.

Meanwhile, Pro-Life supporters met outside of the Planned Parenthood offices in Nashville on Tuesday where they too voiced their thoughts against abortion. Planned Parenthood in Davidson County is the closest location to Rutherford County that offers abortion related services.

On May 2, 2022 in East Tennessee, the Knox County Chapter of Tennessee Right to Life posted on their social media page, "Tennessee Right to Life will not issue a statement concerning the leak of the Supreme Court decision on the Dobbs abortion case. We will prayerfully wait until the official opinion is handed down by the Court."
