UPDATE: Suspect in Smyrna Twice Daily Convenience Store Murder Undergoing Mental Evaluation

SMYRNA - Court proceedings against the suspect accused of brazenly shooting and killing an employee of the Twice Daily in Smyrna are awaiting a mental evaluation. District Attorney General Jennings Jones says 31-year old Keanthony Williams is accused of shooting to death Nicholas Patterson during an attempted robbery at the Sam Ridley Parkway convenience store:  Williams was developed as a suspect after two other reported robberies in Brentwood and Nashville just before the murder in Smyrna. He had only been out of prison for one-month prior to the attempted robbery and murder that occurred at the Smyrna convenience store in August. He was previously convicted for extortion and coercion of a witness in 2018.

(SMYRNA, TN) The suspect accused of brazenly shooting and killing Nicholas Patterson, a 9-year employee of Twice Daily in Smyrna, is scheduled to appear in a Rutherford County Courtroom this coming January. Assistant District Attorney Trevor Lynch told WGNS what occurred on August 30, 2022 at the gas station, which sits at the corner of Stonecrest Parkway and Sam Ridley Parkway… 31-Year-old Keanthony Williams (photo below), who is the suspect in the murder of Patterson, was released from prison one-month prior to the attempted robbery and murder that occurred at the Smyrna convenience store in August. He was previously convicted for extortion and coercion of a witness in 2018.  

BRENTWOOD INCIDENT: Three-days prior to the murder in Smyrna, reports indicate Williams was accused of robbing the Twice Daily gas station on Franklin Road in Brentwood. There, he allegedly entered the store, grabbed a customer and pointed a gun at both the customer and a store employee. Authorities say Williams left the store with about $300 in cash and Newport cigarettes. Police believe he fled the store in a vehicle driven by a second suspect.
